The Hoa Lac Satellite Center (VNREDSat-1 Control Center) is a national key project located in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Hanoi. Designed by Ibstac Architects & Planners (IBSTAC), the project plays a crucial role in Vietnam’s space technology development — monitoring natural resources, the environment, and natural disasters, and preparing for the launch of the VNREDSat-1 satellite.

As a national-level scientific and technological facility, the project required a design that balances modernity, efficiency, and symbolism.
IBSTAC’s architectural concept is based on four key principles:

Harmony with nature: Integrating greenery and water surfaces to blend with the Hoa Lac landscape.

Modern & specialized: Reflecting the technological identity of Vietnam’s space industry.

Architectural prominence: A distinctive yet dignified form symbolizing progress.

Innovative materials & design technology: Applying advanced façade systems and sustainable solutions.
The architectural solution employs a modern glass façade to open views to the surrounding landscape, creating an efficient and inspiring workspace.
Horizontal fins, linear roofs, and dynamic lighting effects give the building a sense of motion, expressing Vietnam’s ambition to reach beyond the Earth into space.
